Wel­come to 2019! The start of a shiny new year means that race sea­son is only a few short months away (hur­ray!). So have you set your goals yet? Whether that’s your first tri or you want to smash a PB, we’ve got your back. Turn to p89 for our 8-week be­gin­ners’ train­ing plan, or if you’re go­ing long, find ev­ery­thing you need for M-dot suc­cess on p28. It’s al­ways worth re­mem­ber­ing that plans may need to change, though! I’m just back from rac­ing the Ne­vis Triathlon (that’s the Caribbean Ne­vis, not the chilly Scot­tish one), an im­pul­sive win­ter ad­di­tion to the end of a sea­son de­railed by a se­ries of an­noy­ing, nig­gling an­kle prob­lems. So for me, 2019 is about work­ing on some se­ri­ous S&C (p45) to keep in­jury-free. What­ever your goals, go smash them and have a great year!
