WELL DONE, DEBS!
Back in February 2013 you ran an Age-Group Focus article on my girlfriend, Deborah Coyle, who’d just been crowned National Middle Distance Champion and was about to represent Team GB at the Worlds in London at Olympic distance. So I wanted to provide a follow-up with her many achievements since.
At the 2013 Worlds, she took bronze in the 35-39 age-group. She then left triathlon for a while, concentrating on time-trialling, before returning last year.
In October this year she represented Team GB at the ETU Middle Distance Champs in Ibiza. Incredibly, she won her age-group (40-44) by 4mins to become European Champion and was second female age-grouper overall (to a 20-24 Dutch athlete).
Debbie works full time as a personal trainer and has two sons ages 12 and 9. She coaches and inspires all ranges of abilities at her club, Havering Tri. This is just my way of saying how incredible she is. Well done, Debs! Paul Wyatt
