3D Artist - - CONTENTS - Carrie Mok, Editor

We’re always inspired, here on 3D Artist, by the different types of art that people create, and as is the case with our cover feature this issue, all the interesting ways they use their favourite software to make their dreams into a reality. Take Maria Panfilova, our cover artist, for example, who used Maya for cleaner UVS and for topology of her stunning écorché lion. Other artists from the likes of Guerrilla Games (Ben Erdt) and Pixar Animation Studios (Andrea Goh) give us unmissable tips and tricks too in our cover feature on page 22.

Elsewhere, we’re jumped into the blue with award-winning animation studio Blue Zoo to discuss their journey so far, while Sony Pictures Animation talks Hotel Transylvania 3.

You can also hear from Image Engine concept artist Julián Calle on creating beautiful planet concepts while Michael Ingrassia teaches us how to make a triple-a character for game or film. It’s a three-part guide, so make sure you get 3D Artist issues 123 and 124. Want to get the issue straight to your door? Then make sure you subscribe! Details are on page 30 for UK readers and page 59 for the US.

Enjoy the issue.
