Technical artist Adnan Chaumette talks texture scanning and Quixel
Texturing This muddy soil material was made with the new Quixel Mixer, a scan-based texturing software. I wanted to challenge myself and produce a material within ten minutes using surface scans from the Megascans library. The hard part here was to make it look ‘unique’ as in not resemble a scan available on megascans.se. The end result was rendered in Marmoset Toolbag 3, and the whole project ended up taking around five to six minutes.
