WHY CAP GEO?

It is pre­ferred to cre­ate cap geo when sim­u­lat­ing the hair be­cause it’s easy to bind to the rig and de­form, but in this case we use them as it helps to keep the hair away from the clean geo that you will ren­der just in case you need to change or re­name the ge­om­e­try. Al­ter­na­tively you can use your low-res­o­lu­tion char­ac­ter geo for the cap geo with a dis­place­ment map. This is not the only way to work with Xgen but it pro­vides peace of mind while work­ing.
