HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN IN THE PORSCHE BUSINESS?

HELPING YOU RUN YOUR PORSCHE

911 Porsche World - - Market Forces -

Keyless Entry on yourmodern Porsche is convenient, but as security experts have been pointing out, itmakes the car easier to steal, and using a scanner (pictured), thieves, who have worked out where the owner lives, can capture the electronic data on a key fromoutside the property, and open and start the car without the key.

However, you can make thieves’ lives muchmore difficult. Scanners can receive information through walls and windows, butmetal is an obstacle. So put the key in ametal container or buy a metallised signal blocking pouch designed to shield electronic keys. On keyless systems, including Porsche’s, you canmanually set the key to function only as a traditional key, which we’re told also foils scanners.
