MHD WATCHES STREAMLINER
All MHD Watches timepieces are designed in the UK by automotive designer, Matthew Humphries, best known for designing the stunning Morgan Aeromax, Supersports and 3-wheeler. While it’s true to say the symbiotic relationship between cars and watches is a well-known fact with enthusiasts of both (the majority of ‘driver’ chronographs take their name from the automotive world e.g. Rolex Daytona, Heuer Carrera), few wristwatches are actually penned by an automotive designer. In other words, to wear a watch designed by a true petrolhead, someone who designs cars for a living, is rare. Enter MHD Watches.
In July 2020, six years into his company’s existence, Matthew started a fresh project with the explicit aim of highlighting the involved process of timepiece design. His intention was to invite feedback from customers keen to contribute to the shaping of the next MHD watch. The starting point was a trio of design themes taking influence from the automotive style of the 1930s, 1950s and 1970s. After receiving a huge amount of appreciation for all three, there was a clear winner in the form of the 1930s-themed design, inspired by the streamliner vehicle and product aesthetic. Thus, the MHD Watches Streamliner was born.
Limited to 200 watches per colour way (choose between four different four-piece dial designs), each Streamliner features a 26-jewel Miyota 9132 automatic mechanical movement housed inside a 316L stainless steel case measuring 40x12mm and wearing a black diamond-like-carbon coating to the case fins. A water-resistant sapphire crystal glass with 5mm bevel edge and anti-reflection coating feature, as does a 42-hour power reserve, 24-hour sub dial and a date window. Chrome hands with white super luminova are accompanied by a red second hand, which can be stopped by way of a hacking function, thereby allowing more precision when setting the time. Brushed and chromed finishes are applied to the case, while a blue Italian leather rally strap with quick release spring bars wraps comfortably around your wrist.
Each MHD Watches Streamliner is individually numbered with a unique rear case etching and is supplied with a two-year warranty. For further information, to place your order and to explore MHD’S full range of wristwatches, visit the company’s website today.
