SIM RACERS DELIGHT AT NEW PORSCHE GRAN TURISMO CUP ASIA PACIFIC

Sim racers will get the chance to compete in a new esports challenge after Porsche Japan, Porsche Asia-pacific, Porsche Korea and Porsche Taiwan teamed up to launch the Porsche Gran Turismo Cup Asia Pacific. Sim racers from eleven markets (Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Brunei and the Philippine­s) will go head to head in races contested within Gran Turismo Sport, a game designed for Playstatio­n, with participan­ts pitted against each other across an initial five qualifying rounds, each comprising two competitio­n slots. The five top-scoring entrants from each market will make it through to the next stage, with the ultimate winner receiving an all-expenses paid weekend in Tokyo. The qualifying races will be held at digital versions of the world’s most iconic circuits, including Le Mans, Fuji Speedway, Mount Panorama and Goodwood. Digitally created cars being raced will include the 919 Hybrid, 962 C and the 356 A. The final will take place mid-december, with the exact date to be announced at porsche.co.jp.
