WHAT you’ve been saying on our Facebook page:

SHOCK at sudden death of mum-of-five (‘Tributes paid to mum Yvonne, 43’, April 8) Rachel Louise Hargreaves: So sad. unbearable heartache R.I.P Yvonne. Maggie Campbell: Rip Yvonne. Very sad news my heart goes out to you all. Cherelle Witts: Sorry for your loss, thinking of you and your family. Sonia French: So sorry about this, really sad news, RIP Yvonne. God bless to all of you. Jamie Lee Bowker: Sorry for your loss to all the family. RIP Yvonne Casee Malakian Leigh: Rest in peace. Lee Holmes: Pure upsetting reading this, thoughts with Dom and family. Sue Hull: So sad RIP Minnie, thinking of you all x Lorraine Ward: How very sad my thoughts are with the family.

TALKS on future of vacant Broadway site (‘Bosses eye M&S site solutions’, April 8) Andy Boardman: Well Arndale bosses would be committed to that wouldn’t they, an empty Arndale won’t make any money for them will it? HBC let Tesco build a supermarket on the edge of town, then move the bus station out of the town centre, high rents drive small businesses out, less people come into town which drives big businesses out, and the end result = ghost town. Mel Whitehead: Let’s hope that whoever it is, it doesn’t take long and that they will bring people back! Brittany Taylor: Don’t need a Primark there’s one in Blackburn... Bring New Look back! Elisa Flynn: A Next would be good but can’t see it somehow Donna Marie Adam: Defo Primark. It would go down a storm here Pamela Sharp: Well I have been to the new M&Ss today, not in a prime location. Sara Warburton: Mini Debenhams would be nice! FAMILY dog lucky to be alive after savage attack (‘Savaged dog Meg lucky to be alive’, April 8) Ali Holmes: Poor Meg, get well soon. People wonder why ‘my dog should be on a lead, it’s friendly’. Any dog can turn, they still have their animal instincts. All dogs in public areas should be on a lead, save any more innocent dogs and possibly owners from being savaged. Sharon Tedesco: Bless her, hope she makes a quick recovery. Poor thing, her injuries are horrific! Matthew Walmsley: I go running on this path and every single time I go out I have a least one dog run up to me off their lead and in my face, it’s a joke. I applaud those responsible dog owners that understand that their dogs should be on a lead in public, but unfortunately you are outnumbered by those that don’t care. I’m not sure what other areas are like but this path is particularly bad for irresponsible owners, and I’m fed up of the number of times an owner has said to me ‘it’s friendly, it won’t bite’ As a child we had dogs in the family and ALWAYS we had them on a lead in public.

FRIENDS of Rhyddings Park members step down following redwood tree controversy (Park trio step down after row over tree felling, April 8) Josh Blayne Allen: It’s a true shame that it’s come to this, I don’t think people truly realise the time and effort these three put into the park. I hope they all reconsider as they will truly be missed and in all honesty I don’t think the park could be run as well without them. Lucy Hamlin: This is such a shame, Gayle Knight. Not sure people realise how much time and effort you put in for the park x Paul Geary: Feel very sorry for all those that feel they need to step down after working so hard to bring much needed money and work to our local park. It’s so hard to find passionate people that are willing to give up their free time for other people’s enjoyment. Jason Mcmillan: Are the lottery fund not concerned that the people they have been dealing with and have spent the past decade fighting for this park will be leaving? I’m assuming the grant was awarded in part because they saw that the park was in good hands and now things have totally changed?
