Haworth Art Gallery – Summer Sunday – Family Fun Day!

SCHOOL summer holidays are about to begin and the Haworth Art Gallery will be celebratin­g the start of a super summer with a Free Family Fun Day on Sunday, July 23.

The event will open at 12 noon with a rousing performanc­e by ‘Recovery Rhythms’ percussion band – maybe you can even have a go yourself!

There will also be a children’s ‘Seaside Trail’ around the gallery to discover the hidden objects and free drop-in workshops with ‘Mrs Maker’. The Art Garden, based in the green house and potting shed near the Stables Studios, will be hosting sessions of ‘Messy Play’ and face painting for young children, and artists in the Stables Studios will be demonstrat­ing their skills.

In addition, ‘The Coachman’ will be taking people on a historical tour of the Stables Block and Motor House to discover how they were used in the past plus ‘Open Mic’ live music hosted by Sam and Ella – why not join in and sing-a-long!

Refreshmen­ts will be available from the Gallery Kitchen. So come along and join us for a fabulous free afternoon of family fun.

The gallery is open Tuesday to Friday, 12 noon to 4.45pm, Saturday and Sunday noon to 4.15pm, closed all day Monday, free entrance and parking. For all the latest informatio­n on events at the Haworth check out our Facebook page.

The Gallery Kitchen is open for lunch and afternoon tea Tuesday to Sunday from noon to 4.30pm and every Friday and Saturday evening from 5.30pm to 11pm with a delicious bistro menu, telephone 01254 491660 to book a table.
