DON’T PANIC! THE DAD’S ARMY SHOW Where / when is it?:

Thursday, April 12, 7.30pm at the Civic Arts Centre and Theatre, 155 -157 Union Road, Oswaldtwis­tle, BB5 5HZ.

What does it involve?:

Don’t Panic is a variety tribute show in the style of Dad’s Army, based at the outbreak of the Second World War. The show runs for two hours with a 30-minute break. This light-hearted sing-along, laugh-along fun show is guaranteed to have the audience laughing all the way. All the character favourites are there, along with our very own musical maestro who provides some stirring renditions of wartime favourites on the old Joanna, add in some magic and human puppetry and Don’t Panic is a sure-fire hit .

Everyone.

The storyline and script is written by the company and is based around the platoon being asked to take over a venue for the night. It turns out that there is a spy in the audience and the Home Guard have to try and find his/her whereabout­s. So with a solid storyline and some good acts interspers­ed, a fun evening is guaranteed. Tickets are available now and are £12, with a £10 concession available.

Who is it suitable for: All the family. What does it involve:

Everyone’s favourite toy returns to the stage this April for a brand new adventure. Join Noddy and all his friends from Toyland as they embark on their next journey. This show is fun for all the family and features all the characters you know and love and plenty of audience interactio­n. We’re proud to announce that our previous show in 2017 picked up two NODA Award nomination­s for the performanc­es of our young people and we won one of those awards!

MINI BEAST HUNT WITH PROSPECTS FOUNDATION When is it?:

Meet at 9.50am; runs 10am to 1pm, Saturday, April 7.

Where is it?:

Woodnook Vale and the Training Centre, Oak Hill Park, Accrington. Meet at King George V Playing Field, Royds Avenue, Accrington. BB5 2LE at 9.50am.

What does it involve?:

Join local artist Kerris Casey-St. Pierre, of Mid Pennine Arts, on a hunt for mini beasts. Come along for a short walk and discover how to look for and identify mini beasts. A printable chart showing many things to look out for will be available on the day. You will then go to Oak Hill Park, where you will be able to make a bug hotel to take home and hang in your garden or back yard. Part of ‘Improving Hyndburn’s Wildlife’.

This is a family event.
