THIS week’s Time Trip

feature takes a look back at what was happening in Accrington 15 to 16 years ago.

We have pictures of a new landlord and landlady, a 40th birthday party, a goodbye meal for a friend travelling abroad and crafts made for The Christie, all taken in 2002 and 2003.

Our first picture of the week (above) was taken in Rishton and shows, from left, Christies Crafters Kath Maguire, June Watson and Lorraine Wallace, who fashioned handmade goods to raise money for The Christie.

Our second picture (above right) was taken at Franco’s Ristorante Pizzeria in Oswaldtwistle on October 4, 2003. A goodbye party was held for Felicity Fonward, who was going to Australia for a year.

Below that (bottom right) is a shot of a 40th birthday celebration for Denise Beard at Green Haworth Golf Club, Oswaldtwistle, on September 27, 2003.

Finally (right) we have a picture of the new landlord and landlady, Gary Pilkington and Lorraine Robinson, hard at work behind the bar at the Roe Buck, Rishton.
