Ex-con­vent girls hunt for­mer school­mates

TWO for­mer Pad­dock House Con­vent Gram­mar School pupils are hop­ing to tick ev­ery­one off the reg­is­ter at a re­union next month.

Ann Lin­gard and Josephine Gar­ri­gan are ap­peal­ing for help to track down stu­dents who joined the Oswaldtwistle school in Septem­ber 1970.

The re­union will be held be­tween 7pm and 11pm on Satur­day, Oc­to­ber 20, at Retro Food and Drink in Ac­cring­ton.

Ann, whose pre­vi­ous sur­name was Red­mayne, said they are ‘des­per­ate to track them down’.

She said: “Josephine has used Face­book to find some friends she first met as an 11-year-old school­girl.

“The school and con­vent was on Fred­er­ick Street, Oswaldtwistle, but was de­mol­ished in the 1990s to make way for houses.

“Although many old girls have made con­tact, there are still a few elu­sive names [to find].”
