Julie steers char­ity cash to a good cause

FOR­MER Corona­tion Street ac­tress Julie Hes­mond­halgh has pre­sented a cheque for £1,664 to Hyn­d­burn char­ity Maundy Re­lief.

The money was raised at the Ac­cring­ton Soapbox Chal­lenge in Septem­ber with half com­ing from or­gan­is­ers Scott Daw­son Ad­ver­tis­ing and the other half from spon­sors Emer­son and Ren­wick.

Ben Cle­ments, manag­ing di­rec­tor of Emer­son and Ren­wick, said: “We chose Maundy Re­lief be­cause it’s a lo­cal, worth­while char­ity.”
