A THIRD of Hyndburn pubs have gone since 2010 (September 28). We asked which one’s you missed the most. Frances Brzeczek: Shoulder of Mutton in Green Haworth. Stephen Cuncarr: Hope and Anchor and all the customers had great times. Mick Doran: Hope and Anchor, Cock n Bull and Adelphi when Doug Froud was landlord. Diane Steer: Greyhound with Carl in its hayday. I can’t believe it’s closed now. Mandie Arbuthnot: Blockade with Joyce and Eddie. Best pub ever. Craig Baron: Imperial after playing footy on a Saturday afternoon. Brown Littlemel: Lar de Dars in Accrington and Golden Cross in Oswaldtwis­tle. Stephen Cookson: Adelphi and the Hope and Anchor. Both had the best jukeboxes in town. Paul Smith: Bees Knees, Black Horse and Shifters. Nichola Darlington: Mighty Muldoons where the Grants Bar is now. It used to have some brilliant live bands on. Stacy Walsh: Hope n Anchor in Accrington, Cross Guns in Church and Golden Cross in Oswaldtwis­tle.
