OSWALDTWISTLE PLAYERS

-

HAPPY Autumn from everyone at the Civic!

We have a jam-packed October lined up for you with shows to suit everyone!

I have selected a few to tell you about below, but please bear in mind a full listing can be found on our website.

Our local amateur dramatics society Oswaldtwistle Players have opened a four-night run of their show Four Weddings and an Elvis which began on Wednesday.

This side-splitting comedy centres on Sandy, the four-times-marriedthree-times-divorced owner of a wedding chapel in Las Vegas.

We witness four of her funniest weddings.

Please do not miss out on what will be a hilarious evening’s entertainment and support your local theatre group.

Next we have Forgotten Melodies: Keep the Home Fires Burning on Thursday, October 18, which is an unforgettable journey featuring a live band and travels through the forgotten melodies of World War One, featuring the songs of the Great War, including Pack Up Your Troubles, Hush Here Comes A Whizzbang!, Oh It’s A Lovely War, Long Way to Tipperary, Forward Joe Soap’s Army, When This Lousy War Is Over, Keep The Home Fires Burning and Goodbyeee.

Based on real events, join our young heroes on their brave quest through the trenches and battlefields of France, as well as the stories of the loyal loved ones they left behind.

On Thursday, October 25 we have a brand new smash hit comedy musical: Seriously Dead!

With some big names, including: Tommy Cannon, Crissy Rock and Billy Pierce.

This uplifting musical comedy tells the tale of Thelma Henderson, who cannot gain entry through the Pearly Gates as the system has gone digital and she has the incorrect paperwork.

On Friday, October 26 you are in for a treat with the Civic’s own show, Ghostbusted (you may have spotted the flag flying on our building!).

When a mystery energy starts to engulf the Civic and spread out around Oswaldtwistle... who you gonna call?

Come in fancy dress, the more ghosties the better.

If you are looking for something to do with the children this month, there is all sorts to choose from as well, Saturday, October 20, we have the popular Storytime Party A Squash and a Squeeze, Halloween Holiday Club which runs from October 22 to 26, 1am to 3pm and there will also be a Halloween Party for Children on Wednesday, October 31.
