Accrington Observer - - YOUR VIEWS -

ALIVERPOOL FC super-fan was carried to his funeral in a Reds-themed coffin.

Christopher Howe, formerly of College Court, Accrington, passed away on October 8, around two years after being diagnosed with sarcoma.

The 26-year-old was a devout Liverpool FC fan and was looking forward to travelling to Anfield to see the stadium and the players before he died.

His funeral service was held on Friday, October 19, at Accrington Crematorium.

Crowds gathered outside The Railway pub in Accrington to give a warm applause as the funeral cortege carrying the late former Broadfield Special School pupil pulled up outside. The cortege then made its final journey to the crematorium, where a final farewell was given to Christopher.

Sarah Barton, of Barton and Hallworth Funeral Service, said: “As Christopher sadly didn’t get to travel one last time to Anfield as he was too poorly, funeral director Paul Barton made sure Anfield came to him by placing him in a bespoke designed Liverpool FC casket.”
