THERE was plenty of Halloween horror as well as things going bump in the night at the Free Gardeners Arms Club in Rishton.

The Parker Street venue held a children’s scary costume competition and party, with themed games on the afternoon of Saturday, October 27, attended by about 25 youngsters.

And in the evening the adults enjoyed a Halloween Monster Mash fancy dress bash with Jacob’s Join, karaoke and disco with a similar turnout.

● A BINGO and cake afternoon has raised £1,071.60 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

More than 50 people attended the event, organised by Natalie and Joanne Fairweather, at the Brooks Club in Accrington.

It also included a raffle with prizes donated by local businesses and performances by the Accy Rockers band.

Natalie said: “Everybody said they had a brilliant afternoon and thoroughly enjoying the music.”
