Court appearances after plant machinery theft operation
A NUMBER of people are due to appear in court following a Lancashire Police operation into the alleged theft of plant machinery.
Tommy Smith, 41 of Smith, of Meadow Street, Great Harwood appeared before Blackburn Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, November 1 charged with conspiracy to handle stolen goods, conspiracy to launder money and theft.
He is also charged with two common assaults and violent disorder. He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear before Burnley Crown Court on November 28. No pleas were entered at the hearing. In separate cases, Mary Smith, 41, of Meadow Street, Great Harwood, Scott Paton, 30, of Springfield Road, Blackburn, and Steven Harwood, 50, of Lord Street, Blackburn, have also charged with conspiracy to handle stolen goods, conspiracy to launder money.
Kieron Savage, 27, of Garden Street, Blackburn has been charged with conspiracy to handle stolen goods. Lancashire Police say they are due to appear before magistrates on November 29
