Court ap­pear­ances af­ter plant ma­chin­ery theft op­er­a­tion

A NUM­BER of peo­ple are due to ap­pear in court fol­low­ing a Lan­cashire Po­lice op­er­a­tion into the al­leged theft of plant ma­chin­ery.

Tommy Smith, 41 of Smith, of Meadow Street, Great Har­wood ap­peared be­fore Black­burn Mag­is­trates’ Court on Thurs­day, Novem­ber 1 charged with con­spir­acy to han­dle stolen goods, con­spir­acy to laun­der money and theft.

He is also charged with two com­mon assaults and vi­o­lent dis­or­der. He has been re­manded in cus­tody and is due to ap­pear be­fore Burn­ley Crown Court on Novem­ber 28. No pleas were en­tered at the hear­ing. In sep­a­rate cases, Mary Smith, 41, of Meadow Street, Great Har­wood, Scott Pa­ton, 30, of Spring­field Road, Black­burn, and Steven Har­wood, 50, of Lord Street, Black­burn, have also charged with con­spir­acy to han­dle stolen goods, con­spir­acy to laun­der money.

Kieron Sav­age, 27, of Gar­den Street, Black­burn has been charged with con­spir­acy to han­dle stolen goods. Lan­cashire Po­lice say they are due to ap­pear be­fore mag­is­trates on Novem­ber 29
