REMEMBRANC­E Sunday, November 11, services and parades: Accrington: A service will be held at the Oakhill Park cenotaph at 10.45am, followed by a parade to Accrington Town Hall at 11am.

Free transport leaves at 10am from Accrington Bus Station (bay 11).

St James Parish Church will also hold a service at 10.45am. Altham: St James Church will host a service at 10am, followed by an act of remembranc­e at the war memorial. Baxenden: A service will be held in St John’s Church at 3pm. Church: A parade will depart from Bank Street at 10.30am followed by a service and wreath laying at the memorial at Gatty Park at 11am. Clayton-le-Moors: The procession will start at 9.30am from the Arthur Wilson Centre on Pickup Street, followed by a service at All Saints Church at 10am and wreath laying at the memorial in Mercer Park at 11am. Great Harwood: The parade will start from the Town Gate at 10.35am to the war memorial, for a service and wreath laying at 10.55am.

At 4.30pm, a special service will take place on the Town Hall Square, where the names of more than 400 Great Harwood soldiers who died in the First World War will be read out. Huncoat: A procession to the war memorial will start at the corner of Burnley Lane/Lowergate Road for a procession to the war memorial for wreath laying at 2.30pm. Oswaldtwis­tle: The parade will start on Thwaites Street at 2.05pm and proceed along Union Road to the war memorial on Rhyddings Street for a combined service and laying of wreaths at 2.30pm. Rishton: A service will be held at St Peter and St Paul’s Church at 9.45am followed by a parade to the war memorial at 10.30am.
