MR Ron­ald Dow­son, of Manch­ester Road, Ac­cring­ton, died on Fri­day, Novem­ber 2, aged 75.

In his early ca­reer Ron­nie worked as a Heat­ing and Ven­ti­la­tion en­gi­neer. He then went on to be­come a Grounds­man for Ac­cring­ton Stan­ley at GEC, be­fore fin­ish­ing his ca­reer at Cali­gen Foam.

He vol­un­teered for Moun­tain and Cave Res­cue and loved pothol­ing in his spare time. His other hob­bies in­cluded play­ing pool for the Bax­en­den League and snooker, and he also fol­lowed Manch­ester United from a young age.

He leaves his wife Eileen, sons Wayne and Scott to­gether with his grand­daugh­ters.

A fu­neral ser­vice will be held at 2.20pm on Tues­day, Novem­ber 13, at Ac­cring­ton Cre­ma­to­rium, ad­min­is­tered by David Ire­land.
