World War project has been held at Benjamin Hargreaves CE primary school in Accrington.

Each class spent the week completing work based around the war and produced pieces of writing, art, crafts and a poppy creation.

Emma Barker, from the school, said: “The children loved learning about the war and parents said they had also gone home wanting to find out more.

“Some children even brought in artefacts from great-greatgrandparents such as war papers and medals.

“At the end of the week, each class put together a display in St Paul’s Church across the road and we had an open afternoon for parents and members of the community. The displays are going to stay up for Remembrance Sunday.”
