Bon­fire Night is a great time to get rid of ma­te­rial that is un­suit­able for com­post­ing, so chuck dis­eased leaves from fruit trees and roses on the fire.

Rake up fallen leaves and com­post in bin bags pierced with a few holes – this will be ex­cel­lent for your er­i­ca­ceous plants.
