Christmas festivities kick-off with a bang
HUGE crowds are expected to gather in Accrington town centre for the Christmas lights switch-on and fireworks display.
Organisers are promising a treat for all the family with live music, festive food, a funfair and a snow globe on Thursday, November 28.
The packed programme will start with the blessing of the crib on the new town square at 4.45pm followed by a three-hour programme of school choirs and entertainers on stage.
The lights will be switched on at 7.45pm by Hyndburn Mayor Councillor Mohammad Ayub and Accrington Carnival Queen Helen Trickett.
Other attractions include fairground rides and a Frozen snow globe on Broadway and a Magical Mayoral Market and Christmas craft market in the Town Hall Ballroom.
Organiser Gayle Knight said: “We are expecting the town to be buzzing with everything that’s going on.”
