Festive PJs fun

-

FAMILIES dressed up in pyjamas, dressing gowns and festive costumes for a special drive-in film screening.

Accrington and Rossendale College welcomed residents to park up and watch the 2003 Christmas comedy classic starring Will Ferrell.

Scarlett Burrow, who attended with her four-year-old daughter Felicity, said:“It was so much fun, I brought blankets, pillows and snacks along.

“We snuggled down in the car and listened to the movie through the car radio.

“We have seen Elf nearing a hundred times already, but nothing compared to watching it at the drive-in, the whole experience was wonderful.

“The on-site restaurant, Roots, was also great- we particularly liked the chocolate fountain.

“As a busy mum of two it was nice to do an exciting activity together, stay warm, dry and feel festive.”

The event was held on Friday, November 23, with support from the Amazing Accrington group.

Zahida Shamin, event director, said: “The screening we held of ‘Grease’ in the summer was incredibly successful and we were getting lots of requests for another.

“This time we chose an earlier screening, and Elf as its suitable for all of the family. It was a wonderful event, thank you to Accrington and Rossendale College for hosting and well done the Roots Restaurant catering team.”
