-

A TEAM from our Premier League Kicks programme represented Stanley in their first fixture of the Northwest Kicks League against Liverpool at the weekend.

The U16 team, made up of participants from our Kicks session, took part in the six-a-side match at the Anfield Community Centre on Saturday representing Accrington Stanley.

It was a close match with great goals from both teams resulting in a 7-6 win for Stanley. As part of the league the team will play one match a month against teams from all over northwest of England. December sees the team take on Fleetwood Town at home.

Lee Walsh Head of Sport commented: “The team did very well. The boy’s behaviour and attitude while representing us was faultless. We engage with many young participants throughout Hyndburn to promote a healthy and active lifestyle, its brilliant to be able to give them the chance to represent the football club in tournaments.’

If you or someone you know is interested in playing football and representing Accrington Stanley come and join in our FREE Premier League Kicks sessions held every Monday and Friday evenings at Hyndburn Leisure Centre, 6pm till 7pm. No need to book, just come and join in.
