LANCASHIRE LUNCHEON EVENT

-

THE Lancashire Luncheon event was held in celebration of Lancashire Day at the Poplar Club, on Sunday 25th November 25.

A mixture of music and comedy was provided by Norman Prince (Houghton Weavers) and Paul Johnstone (Five Penny Piece).

The event was hosted and organised by past Mayor Paul Barton and his wife Sarah in celebration of Lancashire Day and in aid of the Accrington and District Blind Society.

Approximately £550 was raised.

The event was attended by Mayors from across Lancashire as well as the good people of Accrington and surrounding townships.

A great afternoon was had by all.

THIS week our Time-Trip feature takes a look back at what was happening in and around Oswaldtwistle in 2007.

Our first picture of the week (above) shows family and friends at Andrew Houghton’s (middle) RAF leaving party, taking place at Oswaldtwistle Conservative Club.

Our next picture (right) is of Norden High School and Sports College young enterprise traders (from left to right) Lewis Wilde, Danielle Stott, Dean Rodgers and Katrina Sykes selling keyrings and USB pens at the spring trade fair held in Oswaldtwistle Mills.

Next (bottom right) is a snapshot of disco revellers raising money for Broadfield School, Oswaldtwistle at Accrington’s Poplar Social Club.

Our final picture of the week (below) is of friends enjoying Susan Wolstenholme’s 60th and Elaine Cunliffe’s 50th birthday, which were celebrated at Ger Hana Mongolian restaurant, Oswaldtwistle.

In our weekly TimeTrip feature we publish a set of pictures taken by our photographers which have appeared in the paper in years gone by.
