Den­nis Tay­lor opens elite club

BOLD Street Work­ing Men’s Club fea­tures in Look­ing Back this week.

The pic­ture (bot­tom l left), taken by Gareth Daw­son in the 1970s, shows mem­bers be­ing pre­sented with tro­phies for win­ning the snooker and domino league at the Ac­cring­ton and District Fed­er­a­tion of W WMC’s prize night.

Fed­er­a­tion sec­re­tary Billy Beetham pre­sented the tro­phies, and a raf­fle raised £39 for fed­er­a­tion funds and a con­va­lesc cent home.

Ann Pol­lard was i in­stalled as the new c chair­man of Ac­cring­ton Ladies Cir­cle when the group met at the Spread Ea­gle Ho­tel in Bar­row (left cen­tre).

Ben Clark­son was joined by pro­fes­sional snooker player Den­nis Tay­lor when he opened his new Elite Bil­liards and Snooker Cen­tre.

A plas­ter cast com­pe­ti­tion, wa­ter sports and vin­tage car rally were just three of the high­lights at a Cub Pack week­end.

Thirty seven cubs and eight lead­ers, from 1st Clay­ton-le-Moors All Saints Pack ,en­joyed the trip to Bow­ley.
