Busi­ness pupils in the Big Ap­ple

A GROUP of Ac­cring­ton Academy’s Sixth Form stu­dents took a bite out of the Big Ap­ple when they trav­elled to New York as part of a busi­ness stud­ies trip.

Four­teen pupils and three staff mem­bers vis­ited the Em­pire State Build­ing, Rock­e­feller Cen­tre and Statue of Lib­erty as well as tak­ing in the Broad­way show, School of Rock.

In sup­port of the busi­ness stud­ies theme, other high­lights in­cluded a spe­cial mar­ket­ing tour of Macy’s to show how the world fa­mous depart­ment store mar­kets it­self, as well as a trip to Wall Street to un­der­stand the devel­op­ment of New York’s fi­nan­cial district.

Ac­cring­ton Academy’s head of school Nicola Palmer said: “As part of our com­mit­ment to pro­vid­ing our stu­dents with an ed­u­ca­tion with char­ac­ter, we feel it’s im­por­tant to en­hance their stud­ies through a range of sup­port­ing ac­tiv­i­ties, of which the New York visit is one, help­ing to give those tak­ing part an in­side look at the world of high fi­nance.”
