Accrington Observer - - SCHOOLS NEWS -

works of Roald Dahl were brought to life as part of a school reading day.

Tony Pedley gave a live reading of the BFG to pupils at Baxenden St John’s primary school.

They also watched him perform ‘A Taste of Dahl’ - a show where he recalled Dahl’s life and works.

Children across the school joined in a ‘We Love to Read’ day and each class worked on activities themed around reading their favourite books.

Katie Edwardson, of Baxenden St John’s, said: “In addition to this, the Baxenden Reading Leaders also helped to arrange a book swap.

“Many of the children across school brought in their favourite books from home to swap with their peers and we certainly had a fabulous range of literature to choose from.

“Year 5 and 6 were also visited by Zoe from the Lancashire Library Service, who left us with a fantastic selection of new books for our class libraries.”
