We’re now three wins away from a place at Wem­b­ley which in any other cir­cum­stance might be ex­cit­ing.

How­ever, we could still face the youth teams of New­cas­tle, Chelsea and Man City in our his­toric first trip to the home of foot­ball. I can just see it now: ‘Grandad, tell me about the first trip to Wem­b­ley all those years ago.’ I sit back and let out a deep sigh… ‘Well, Grand­son. We got dis­man­tled by a young Slove­nian prodigy play­ing for Chelsea U21s in front of an all-time low crowd. It was a great day.’

Un­for­tu­nately, the team needs to get their heads screwed on, and pretty sharpish. Satur­day brings with it the big one.

The game we were all look­ing out for in July when they re­leased the fix­tures.
