Pub lo­cals pull in £3k with char­ity walk

A CLOSE group of friends and lo­cals from The Rail­way pub in Hun­coat raised £3,360.50 for char­ity.

They took part in a canal walk in aid of East Lan­cashire Hospice.

Cather­ine Leech, hospice com­mu­nity fundraiser, said: “The peo­ple who took part in the very suc­cess­ful canal walk and do­nated are very gen­er­ous. Not only did they raise an amaz­ing amount, they raised aware­ness of the ser­vices the hospice pro­vides.

“Here at the hospice we are very for­tu­nate to have the lo­cal com­mu­nity sup­port­ing us. Thank you to all.”
