FESTIVE FUN

MORE than 100 guests attended a community Christmas party at Mount Carmel High School.

Parishioners from local Catholic Parish Churches of St Mary’s Oswaldtwistle, St Mary’s, Clayton-le-Moors, St Joseph’s and St Anne’s, residents from Rough Lee Care Home, local residents and staff family members were among the guests.

A delicious festive meal was prepared and served by school catering staff and pupils served food, waited on the guests and chatted to them.

Entertainment was provided after the meal by choir pupils from Mount Carmel and Broadfield Specialist School and guests also took part in a Christmas sing-a-long.

Headteacher Xavier Bowers said: “The invited guests left very happy and full of the joys of the real Christmas message – Peace on earth, love, hope and joy.”
