JOHN SPEAR

MR John Francis Spear, of Poplar Avenue, Great Harwood, died peacefully in his sleep at home, on Tuesday, December 4, aged 80.

John had various jobs throughout his life including a postman, sweet maker, a chauffeur for several years at Brooke Bond OXO and a fishmonger at Accrington Asda until his retirement.

He was a member of Rishton Golf Club for over 20 years.

In his spare time he enjoyed painting, car boots and travel, until ill health forced him to stop.

Beloved husband of the late Valerie Spear, he was cherished dad of David and Gillian, grandad to Sophie and the late Vikki and father-in-law of Madeline and Gregg.

The funeral service will take place at Accrington Crematorium on Friday, December 28 at 10.20am, conducted by the minister Sandra Howles, followed by cremation.

Family flowers only please and donations are requested to the British Heart Foundation.
