Accrington Observer - - LOOKING BACK -

SUSAN Patricia Rowlands, of Buttermere Drive, Oswaldtwistle, passed away peacefully but unexpectedly in the Royal Blackburn Hospital on Wednesday, December 12, aged 73.

Throughout her life Susan worked for Allen’s Opticians as a receptionist.

Over her 42 years she has worked in the branches of Accrington, Brierfield and Clitheroe.

In her spare time she enjoyed doing word games on her iPad and iPod.

She also liked going away on camper van holidays, especially to France, Wales, Scotland or sometimes just simply as a passenger enjoying the views.

Susan was also a member of the Canal and Towpath groups as well as local cancer and hospice charities.

She sadly leaves her dearly loved husband Steven, her much loved son Nicholas and her treasured grandsons Will and Jack.

Susan will be very sadly missed by all who knew her.

A celebration of life service will be held at 10.20am on Thursday, December 27, at the Accrington Cemetery Chapel prior to interment in Accrington Cemetery.

Flowers are welcome and may be sent c/o Barton & Hallworth Funeral Service, The Old Foxhill, 136-8 Union Road, Oswaldtwistle.
