Leak will close pool for weeks

A SWIMMING pool will be closed for THREE months to repair an underground leak.

Asbestos will also be removed at Mercer Hall pool in Great Harwood with work set to start next month.

Hyndburn Leisure Trust said the repairs have been organised by the council and the pool will be closed until March 2019.

Bosses say they have liaised with local schools, swimming groups and customers to make alternative arrangements with many being given access to swimming lessons, public swimming and aqua fitness classes at Hyndburn Leisure Centre.
