School staff to leave
A LONG-SERVING school staff member has retired.
Julie Harris worked as the headteacher’s personal assistant for 18 years at Mount Carmel High School in Accrington.
Headteacher Xavier Bowers praised Julie for her dedication, loyalty and hard work and said he will miss working with her.
All the staff said their emotional farewells at the end of the autumn term and wished her well in her retirement.
Julie said: “I would like to say thank you for all your good wishes – it has been quite overwhelming and so lovely.
“What a great bunch of staff we have here.
“I will never forget you all or the wonderful Mount Carmel ethos, and wish everyone good luck and good health for the future.”
Julie and her husband are planning on retiring to North Wales.
