Work starts on £5m ‘gated community’

-

BUILDING work has started on a £5 million ‘exclusive’ development.

Rhoden Park in Oswaldtwistle will include 24 new homes in a ‘gated community’ which are aimed at first-time buyers and families.

The first phase of eight three and four-bed homes is set to be completed by Easter 2019 and has already attracted interest from the community.

Hyndburn council leader Miles Parkinson helped to cut the ribbon on the development.

He said: “This will be a lovely development and gives the aspiration the borough requires. We need change and it’s all about giving choice to people.

“Currently in Hyndburn 66 per cent of properties are terraced.

“We want to build what is required for the residents of the borough but also to attract new people to the borough.”

Property Shop have been appointed to manage Rhoden Park houses which are described as having Italian kitchens and a choice of ‘cutting edge’ bathrooms.

Jamie Allen, joint managing director, said: “We expect the houses to be sold really quickly. The first eight are just a few months away from completion, meaning families could be in them for Easter 2019.”
