MEMBERS had the opportunity to participate in two enjoyable trips during November.

Early in the month there was a coach trip to see a stage production of the ‘Calendar Girls’ musical based on the story of Rylstone WI’s alternative calendar produced in memory of a friend.

Later in the month, at a themed event, ‘Songs of the Shows’, a turkey dinner, live singers and dancing were popular.

During the AGM in November, Pat Laraway was re-elected as president and a cheque was given to the Women’s Centre at Accrington.

December’s meeting included the Christmas party with a cold buffet, mince pies, a quiz and a game, which were all appreciated.

Visitors and potential members are welcome at the monthly meetings at Bank Mill House, Great Harwood at 2pm on the second Wednesday of the month.

The WI’s craft meetings for members are held at the same time on most third and fourth Wednesdays.

On January 9, Judith Addison will give a talk on the ‘Role of women in the modern age’.
