Accy out to make up ground on Rams

IT’S set to be another busy few days of cricket action, with both Lancashire League and Worsley Cup fixtures taking place this weekend.

In Division One, Ramsbottom are on their travels as they make the trip to the Property Shop Arena on Thorneyholme Road to take on Accrington.

Ramsbottom are in fifth place in the table after seven wins, five losses and one tied game so far this season, giving them 91 points. Accrington are in ninth position, with five wins and eight defeats putting them on 70 points.

Church have a home match as they welcome Clitheroe to Blackburn Road. Church have found things tough so far this season, sitting in 10th place on 63 points with four wins and nine defeats. Clitheroe are in seventh, having won five and lost eight of their 13 games, giving them 75 points.

In Division Two, Rishton welcome Bacup to Blackburn Road. Rishton are fifth in the Division Two table with seven wins and six defeats from their 13 games, leaving them with 91 points, while Bacup are in seventh on 90 points with the same wins and losses, meaning a victory for Bacup would see them leapfrog their rivals in the table.

There is a local derby between Great Harwood and Enfield as the two neighbours clash at Cliffe Park. Great Harwood have struggled with four wins and nine defeats leaving them second bottom in the table on 55 points. Enfield are in ninth, with six wins, six defeats and one no result giving them 87 points.

Haslingden have an away game, heading to Alexandra Meadows to face East Lancashire. Haslingden are in third place with seven wins and six defeats giving them 106 points. East Lancs are in eighth after six wins, one tie and six defeats this season, resulting in them having 89 points.

Milnrow have a home game as they take on Rawtenstall at Ladyhouse. Milnrow are bottom, with two wins and 11 defeats leaving them on 36 points, while Rawtenstall are sixth with six wins and seven losses handing them 91 points.
