Dance charity’s sponsorship boost
A DANCE charity has been boosted by sponsorship from an electrical contractor after bosses were inspired by team members at a prestigious awards ceremony.
William Dyer Electrical managing director William Dyer attended a special presentation ceremony at County Hall where Accrington-based DanceSyndrome received the 2019 Queens Award for Voluntary Service.
Mr Dyer said he was so impressed by a speech given by charity founder Jen Blackwell that reached out to offer them support.
DanceSyndrome delivers is an inclusive arts charity that aims to inform and empower people through dance.
A sponsorship deal has now been agreed by Huncoat-based William Dyer Electrical to help DanceSyndome maintain it’s weekly Accrington Library workshop for the next year.
It follow the end of major funding which had sustained the charity for the last three years.
Mr Dyer said: “William Dyer Electrical UK Ltd recognise the exceptional work DanceSyndrome do for our community and are extremely pleased to be able to offer some support and funding to assist the team to continue the fabulous work.”
Dawn Vickers, managing director of DanceSyndrome, said: “We are always thrilled when a local business decides to support our work.
“Donations like this make a significant difference to our work and enable us to continue to support people who are often excluded from mainstream activities to not only be included but to be empowered to become leaders.
