GUESTS had a ball at East Lancashire Hospice’s 35th anniversary charity event which raised £33,000.
The event at the Dunkenhalgh Hotel in Clayton-le-Moors was attended by 250 guests and they were entertained throughout the night by the Diane Shaw Band Soul and Motown Band.
Supporters also took part in a silent auction, a live auction and a special raffle with prizes including a Northcote getaway, a Usain Bolt signed trainer, a VIP wine tasting experience, a Daniel Thwaites break, a dining package, a hand signed boxing glove by Sugar Ray Leonard, a 9ct white gold diamond pendant, a Raymond Weil watch and a four ball voucher clubs
Sharon Crymble, income generation and marketing lead at the Hospice, said: “I would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported this year’s event by either sponsoring the event, buying a ticket to attend or providing a prize to help us achieve this record breaking amount.
“Every for NINE golf single pound raised will go towards helping us to provide care to our patients and also their families at a time when they need it.
“I would also like to say a special thank you to our volunteers who helped on the night and to Margaret Evans and also Elaine Pugh from Beaverbrooks who gave so much of their time to help to organise, source prizes, sell tickets and so much more.
“Their involvement added greatly to the success of the evening.”
The Hospice will hold a Light up a Life event at Blackburn Cathedral on December 9 at 7.30pm, supported by Champs Funeral Services.
