OBITUARIES JOHN SYRON

-

BARBARA WILLIAMS

also a dear greatgrandma, sister and friend to many.

Barbara was born one of nine children in Warrington and this is where she spent her childhood. Growing up and finding love with Bill, she then spent 12 months in Wales before moving to Lumb, and finally settled into family life in Claytonle-Moors where she lived for over 50 years.

Barbara owned a fruit and veg shop at the top of Barnes Street in Claytonle-Moors; she loved her time spent there. She was also a stewardess for the Masonic Hall Mill House, where she worked for many years until retirement.

Barbara loved her family around her;

Sunday dinner was on the menu every week for her and her family, and also Christmas time was very much family time. She lived for them.

In her spare time she loved to watch TV - especially her soaps, war films, westerns and rugby.

Walking around the park every day with Meg the dog was something that Barbara thoroughly enjoyed doing to keep herself active.

Barbara’s family would like to thank Altham Care Home - especially Paula, Sherie and Jeanie, for the love and support they have shown to Barbara and her family.

A private family funeral service will be held.

Family flowers only please, but donations in memory of Barbara are being gratefully received on behalf of Dementia

UK. Please visit champfunerals.com/ obituaries .

He loved to sing and was a long-time member of several local choirs. An active man, he enjoyed his daily walks and ran the local badminton club.

For the community, he was past chairman and treasurer for the Accrington District

Probus Club. Selfless, he would be the first to offer help to anyone.

The service will be live streamed for all those who cannot attend.

MARY ROBERTS

MARY Roberts sadly passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 15 at Royal Blackburn hospital with her family by her side.

She had suffered for a long time with Myeloma, but fought the disease every day.

Mary leaves husband Dave, children Anthony and Claire, their partners Sharron and Liam, grandchildren Niall, Sam, Kayleigh and Joe. Mary was also greatgrandmother to Kyra and Mylo and sister to Susan, Maureen and Valerie.

Mary had worked at the Greyhound Ford garage for over 30 years and had lots of friends who also worked there; she kept in touch with many of them until she passed away.

Mary loved her time travelling with Dave and every year in the winter months went to India, exploring the country from top to bottom, often visiting nature reserves and other exciting places off the beaten track.

As well as travel, Mary and Dave spent many hours in their beloved garden growing their own fruit and vegetables, and sitting in the summer house enjoying the wildlife around them and enjoying a glass of wine, or two. Mary will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

A private family funeral service will be held. Family flowers only please, with donations in memory of Mary being gratefully received on behalf of Myeloma UK. Visit champfunerals.com/ obituaries .
