EDNA Richardson, of Woodfield Avenue, Accrington died peacefully on Tuesday, June 29, aged 81.

During her life, Edna worked as a legal executive for various companies over the years, including Haworth & Nuttall Solicitors, Collier & Graham, Birchall Blackburn, and was also the Proprietor of Wills On Wheels until her retirement at the age of 75.

In her spare time and during her retirement she enjoyed volunteeri­ng, which suited her generous nature as she loved to give her time to others. She loved volunteeri­ng for her local charity Community Solutions, where she volunteere­d as a befriender for the past 10 years until recently.

In her later years she also was part of the Purl in the Parlour at Elmfield Hall at Gatty Park in Church. She was also a member of Brave Church in Oswaldtwis­tle and also previously Emmanuel Pentecosta­l Church, where her husband Harry was a Minister for 40 years.

She was also an accomplish­ed artist, formally exhibiting her works locally.

She also enjoyed travelling with her late husband Harry, who she was married to for over 60 years before he passed away in 2019.

Edna’s family were her life, and she devoted both time and energy to supporting her children, grandchild­ren and great-grandchild­ren.

A dearly loved mother of Deborah, Stephen and the late David, a dear mother-in-law of Craig and Julie, a treasured and loving grandma to Gabrielle, Millie, Katie, Daniel, Hannah, Becky and Jojo, a cherished great-grandma of Sophia, George, Harry and Isaac and a good friend to many. She will be very sadly missed by all her loving family and her friends.

A private funeral service will be held for family and invited close friends only, due to the current government restrictio­ns.

Donations are being welcomed for Community Solutions North West – Visit me/ Support NOW service, that supports people who are alone returning from hospital or who have been bereaved, instead of flowers. Donations will be gratefully received by phone, by post, or by envelope drop off at the funeral home
