SCHOOL NEWS ST PAUL’S CHURCH OF ENGLAND PRIMARY SCHOOL

-

ON Monday this week, the school was taken over by the characters from Roald Dhal’s Matilda.

The characters stayed in school all day.

Miss Trunchbull was very scary and mean, she even threw Mrs Smith, our headteacher, out of school accusing her of being too nice to the children and locked her in the ’Chalky’.

Even though Miss Trunchbull was really horrible, all the children had lots of fun learning Salsa dancing with Mrs Wormwood, magic tricks with Matilda and learning how to sell cars and make money with Mr Wormwood.

Well done to the following pupils who have been honoured for their successes and achievements this year with the following awards:

Holly Lavin - Wider Curriculum Achievement

Courtney Isherwood - Global Citizenship Award

Aishah Khan - Outstanding Academic Achievement

Maya Akbar - Creativity Award

Jacob IsherwoodOutstanding Attendance

Freddie Lavin - Maths Master

Kalvin Burton - Christain Ambassador

Malayka Bilal - Overcoming Adversity

As well as having their names engraved on our school shields and trophies, the children were also awarded their very own trophies to take home and keep forever.

The whole school enjoyed an ice-cream treat on the last day of term thanks to the school governors.

The weather was glorious and perfect for sitting out in the sun with friends and staff enjoying a cool, refreshing treat!
