EUNA GOODE

-

WE are extremely sad to announce the passing of our much loved and caring mum Euna Margaret Goode.

Mum died peacefully on Wednesday, August 18 in the loving care of Springhill Care Home, with her daughters by her side.

A beloved wife of the late Ronnie Goode and much loved mum of Valerie and Julie. Euna was also a dear mum-in-law of John, a wonderful nana of Victoria and Charlotte, a very proud “Little Granny” of her great grandson Ashton, and sister of the late Stanley.

She was also a loving auntie and great-auntie and a good and loyal friend to many, especially Kath.

Euna was born and lived her whole life in Stanhill prior to moving due to ill-health to Springhill. She was a clerk/typist and retired from Estcourts (Stanhill Pickle Factory) in 1986. She was an excellent baker, beautiful embroiderer and knitter, she also loved to sew and crochet. She loved to do crosswords and wordsearches and enjoyed watching TV, especially Emmerdale and I’m A Celebrity.

She was a member of All Saints Mothers Union for many years and helped to embroider their new banner. We would like to express our deepest thanks to all the staff at Springhill Care Home for all the love and care shown to mum over the last three years. We shall be eternally grateful.

She leaves behind a beautiful legacy of care, love, patience and thoughtfulness for those lucky enough to have known her and will be greatly missed by everyone.

Her smile lit up every room she was in.

“Whatever will be, will be, and all shall be well.”

Euna’s funeral service will be held at 2pm, on Tuesday, August 31, at All Saints Church, Oswaldtwistle, prior to committal at Accrington Crematorium. Family flowers only please, but donations are being kindly received in memory of Euna for the North West Air Ambulance.

Funeral director: Paul Barton for Barton & Hallworth Funeral Service, Oswaldtwistle.
