BRIAN BESTON

-

MR Brian Beston, of Yorkshire Street, Accrington, passed away peacefully at home, on Friday, August 27, aged 77.

During his life Brian worked as a spinner for

WM Robinson and the Co-Union Mill in Haslingden, as well as working in various roles at Holland’s Pies.

In his spare time and during his retirement he was a familiar face in and around Woodnook, and was key to making a difference in the area.

He was secretary of the Woodnook Residents Association, as well as a governor of Woodnook Primary School.

He was also instrumental in obtaining funding for the rejuvenation of the pond at Oakhill Park.

Brian was also awarded several awards in recognition of his hard work and his commitment to the community.

When not out and about helping others, at home, he liked listening to classical music, gardening, reading, and watching TV, especially comedies, but most of all he loved spending time with his family, in particular his grandkids and their trips to Manchester.

Brian was a dearly loved dad of Laura and Sarah, a dear father-in-law of Michael, and a treasured grandad of Leah, Louis, Harry and Ellie.

He will be very sadly missed by all those who knew him.

A celebration of life service will be held at 3pm, on Tuesday, September 7, at Accrington Crematorium.

Family flowers only please, but donations are being gratefully received in memory of Brian for The Bethany Project.
