Ladies sides ready for start

-

THE season gets underway this weekend for Accrington Stanley Ladies and Girls FC’s two ladies teams.

In the North West Womens Regional Football League North Division Accrington Stanley Ladies and Girls FC face Blackburn Sports Club 2pm kick off at the Community Trust Sports Hub.

In the Lancashire FA Womens County League Premier Division it’s

Nelson Ladies v Accrington Stanley Ladies and Girls Reserves 2pm kick off at Victory Park Nelson.

For both teams this is the highest level each of the teams have played at. However with an influx of new players and a busy pre season against higher level opposition both teams can enter the season with optimism as they seek to emulate the success of the mens team.

The Junior teams U15’s,

U14’s and U 11’s have a further week to wait before they can kick a ball in anger.

In addition to the club’s grassroots teams they also have the following groups which train at the Sports Hub on Mondays. The aim of the sessions is to provide girls with an introduction to the game in a fun environment:

Acorns (ages 4 to 6) 5pm to 6pm (from 13/9 this session will be indoors at Accrington

Academy), Mini Lionesses (ages 7 to 12) 6pm to 7pm.

If there are any aspiring John Colemans or Jimmy Bells out there who feel they could get involved in assisting with the management/coaching of any of the above teams/ sessions or girls wishing to join the teams/sessions then please email ASCTladies@stanleytrust. couk and we will be pleased to supply further information
