ANOT-FORPROFIT educational trust and academy sponsor has been jointly established by two Hyndburn secondary schools and primary schools.

The LET Education Trust opened on Tuesday, March 1, and will see four member schools convert to academy status on April 1 – The Hollins, Huncoat Primary, West End Primary and Rhyddings.

The schools have been working together for the last two years and are looking forward to the first Collaborative Learning Event on April 29.

Trust CEO Steve Campbell said: “Our Trust believes that we are an inclusive partnership that has come together through a shared belief that all our children deserve the very best. Ambitious for our pupils, staff, and communities - our purpose is to create opportunities and experiences for all of them to reach their potential.”

Rachel Dickinson, headteacher at Huncoat Primary School said they are looking forward to their journey.

“We believe that transi

tion is an important part of young lives and to be able to offer high quality education from 3-16 across the trust will enable children to thrive within their education and learning,” she said.

“Being part of LET Education Trust will enable our children to have access to wider opportunities across the Academy and allow our children to learn in different ways

with a breadth of shared knowledge, expertise and resources.

“As staff we are looking forward to sharing good practice across the Academy in order to strengthen the excellent learning and teaching that already happens in our school.”

Andrew Williams, Rhyddings headteacher, said: “We are delighted to be a founding member of the LET Education Trust.

“Working collaboratively has already begun, bringing many benefits, and will ensure our school and the trust as a whole will go from strength to strength. We are excited for our future and feel this strong partnership will impact positively on our pupils and the community we serve.”

Sam Haydock, headteacher at The Hollins, said: “Being a member of

this Trust will allow The Hollins to work collaboratively with the other schools to ensure we continue to deliver the best education and opportunities for our young people.

“Our care, compassion and high academic standards will continue to go from strength to strength with the support of a wider team of professionals.”

James McBride, head

teacher of West End Primary School, said: “We are excited to have reached our goal of becoming an Academy and to join the newly formed LET Trust. We are looking forward to becoming part of a larger organisation and developing the links between our schools further with the aim of improving outcomes for the young people of Hyndburn.”

Jenny Woodward, chair of Trustees, said: “We have a fantastic opportunity to create an amazing MAT (Multi-Academy Trust) which puts pupils at the heart of everything we do.

“They are the next generation, and we have a responsibility to ensure they are equipped with the skills, knowledge and resilience to meet the challenges they will face.”
