WE DON’T WANT TO SUFFER

-

AS the Russians increase their incursion slower than they expected into the Ukraine, governments throughout the world have condemned the Russians.

They talk about sanctions political and financial being imposed on Russia.

Does the west think that Putin will pull back or stop the conflict, because of these sanctions - I think not.

He’s talked about nuclear weapons, that has NATO worried. Threat or bluff?

NATO has said that it will not interfere militarily in the Ukraine conflict.

The west will provide aid and is doing so with weapons. Britain and most European countries rely on oil and gas from Russia, especially Germany.

The economies of Europe would suffer with the loss of Russian oil and gas.

Now America and Britain and Europe say that by the end of this year they will reduce the need for Russian oil and gas.

This loss would damage Russia’s gross domestic finances.

So what would you do if you were Putin?

He now knows what his country will suffer by

2022, with the loss of America but mainly by Britain and Germany and other Europe no longer buying Russian gas and oil.

So if he has any sense, he would cut off that supply immediately to Britain and Germany and the other European countries, and watch European economies suffer virtually overnight with loss of heating to homes, petrol prices going through the roof transport suffering, food prices rocketing and businesses closing.

So if this were to happen, who would be the winners and losers?

Certainly the Ukraine would continue to suffer, but would the people of Western Europe still support the conflict - especially as their homes would have no heat and their vehicles would have no fuel?

We would probably support the Ukrainians morally, but we don’t want to suffer such hardships ourselves.
